I remember receiving an email from Kayla, reading it, and feeling like we would really get along. It wasn’t until I got off the phone with her that I absolutely knew I would love to photograph Kayla and her fiancé, Tim. She oozed with sweetness and their wedding sounded exactly like a day that I would want to be a part of. Unfortunately, they decided to go another way. I was bummed but ultimately want couples to be excited about their wedding photographer…after all you spend a lot of time together! A couples months later, I got an email from Kayla asking if I was still available for their date. I danced around before emailing her back to say, “Yes! I am!”

The rest is history. 😉

Tim and Kayla had the most perfect spring weather for their engagement session. They decided to sneak one in just a few weeks before their wedding and I couldn’t have been more pumped!

 

 

Tim + Kayla (as I ended up calling them Kim…whoops! Gave them a couple name!) could not have been more relaxed, laid back, and sweet. Their love for each other was so evident and I had so much fun with them roaming around the woods.

 

 

 

Some may say that engagement photos are a great trial for your wedding photos. It’s a great way to get to know your photographer and get a little more comfortable in front of the camera. Although there is truth in that, I love engagement sessions because it represent such a sweet season in your life and relationship. It’s more than about “trying out” a session or your photographer. It’s about celebrating your relationship, all the valleys and peaks you’ve come through to be where you are today. Celebrating your love and lives together and straight up celebrating this person you get to do life with.
